Consistent consumption of such drinks, in the long run, leads to weight gain and has an injurious effect on our cardiometabolic health.

Let us understand the ill-effects of Aerated/Cold drinks:

A single can of aerated drinks contains large quantities of sugar, the liquid state sugar results in an insulin reaction in the body.

It contains phosphoric acid that interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium and can lead to osteoporosis (a medical condition in which bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue).

The sugar present in these drinks drastically increases belly fat accumulation.

Most of the sodas contain caffeine which is linked to certain cancers, breast lumps, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, and other problems.

High amounts of caffeine content dehydrate the body and over a long period can cause chronic dehydration.

However, people who are health conscious have acknowledged the ill effects of consuming aerated/cold drinks, sweetened beverages; also referred to as soft drinks.

Researchers reviewed the studies that were conducted in the past to investigate the link between these drinks and cardiometabolic health. The conclusion demonstrated that consumption of these drinks not only promotes obesity but also increases the risk of developing diabetes and heart-related illness.
