Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday is addressing the nation through his monthly radio program Maan Ki Baat. This is the 67th edition of the monthly radio program.
On this day 21 years ago, our army won the Kargil War. PM Narendra Modi also paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces by saying on Sunday is the Kargil Vijay Diwas, “On this day, we defeated Pakistan, we will never be able to forget this day.”
Modi also said that “Those who cast an evil eye on Indian soil in Ladakh have got an appropriate response. Indian honors the spirit of friendship… and is also capable of giving an appropriate answer to any adversary.”
The PM also said that the “Entire country comes together in paying tribute to the bravery of our soldiers who attained martyrdom in Ladakh” and added future that “the entire country bows them in respect, with gratitude”.
Speaking on the Coronavirus pandemic situation in the country, Modi said, “Covid-19 recovery rate in India is better than the others. Death is much less than in other countries. We were able to save many lives of people, but the risk of coronavirus is not over yet. It is spreading fast, we need to remain cautious.”
He also said that “Sometimes we have problems while wearing masks. Some people remove masks while speaking. He said when you feel like removing the masks, just think about our doctors and other COVID warriors who are fighting corona battle wearing these masks for hours”.
“This year 15th August will be celebrated in very different conditions, being in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. I urge the youth, the people of my country to take a pledge of freedom from the pandemic this Independence Day and make India Self-reliant.” PM Modi said while addressing the nation.
Sunday Morning, India reported 48,661 coronavirus cases, the total number of cases has reached to 13,85,522. The total number of dead has risen to 32, 063, and 705 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
