Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of India his full name is Narendra Damodardas Modi. He was born on 17 September 1950 at Vadnagar, Mehsana Gujarat. In his childhood days, Modi helped his father in selling tea at the Vadnagar Railway Station and later ran a tea stall with his brother near a bus terminus.

Since 2014, he is the Prime Minister of India. He was sworn in as a Prime Minister on 30 May 2019 for the second time. He had prior served as the Chief Minister of Gujrat state from 2001 to 2014.

After becoming the CM of Gujarat in his second term in 2002, he focused on the economic development of the state and made it an attractive destination for businessmen and industrialists. He also created groundwater conversation projects with the support of the government. This had helped in the cultivation of Bt cotton with the help of irrigation facilities via tube wells.

In the 2014 and 2019 Parliamentary elections, Shri Modi led the Bharatiya Janata Party to record wins, securing an absolute majority on both occasions. The last time that a political party secured such an absolute majority was in the elections in the year 1984.

Shri Narendra Modi has initiated several ambitious and important projects like “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, “Make in India”, “Clean Ganga” etc.

Empowering the Girl Child, “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” was launched by Prime Minister on 22nd January 2015 at Panipat, Haryana. BBBP addresses the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of women empowerment over a life-cycle continuum. It is a tri-ministerial effort of Ministries of Women and Child Development, Health & Family Welfare, and Human Resource Development.

PM Modi started his vision for the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana on its launch. It aims to translate the comprehensive vision of Mahatma Gandhi about an ideal Indian village into a reality, keeping in view the present context. Under SAGY, each Member of Parliament adopts a Gram Panchayat and guides its holistic progress giving importance to social development at par with infrastructure.

In a survey conducted by India Today Magazine, he was named as the best Chief Minister in the country in 2007. In 2009, FDI magazine honored Narendra Modi the Asian Winner of the ‘fDi Personality of the Year’ award.

In 2014, 2015, and 2017, he was listed among ‘Time 100 most influential people in the world’ by Time magazine. In 2014, he was awarded the Indian of the Year by CNN-IBN news network. In January 2019, PM Narendra Modi, a biographic film starring Vivek Oberoi has been released.

PM Modi is a ‘People’s Leader’, dedicated to solving their problems and improving their well-being. Nothing is more satisfying to him than being amongst the people, sharing their joys, and lightening their sorrows. His powerful ‘personal connect’ with the people on the ground is accompanied by a strong online presence. He is very active on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Sound Cloud, Linkedin, Weibo, and other forums.

Beyond politics, Narendra Modi enjoys writing. He has authored several books, including poetry. He arises his day with Yoga, which strengthens his body and mind and fills the power of peace in an otherwise fast-paced routine.
