Income tax notice has been assisted to the top leaders of Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi, with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule and Thackeray’s son Aditya Thackeray have also received the IT notice.
The notice has been assisted after Income Tax department reportedly found conflicts in the statements made by these leaders in their pre-poll confirmation to the election commission.
The Election Commission demanded the Central Board of Direct Taxes to enquiry claims of false affidavits filed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, minister son Aaditya Thackeray and NCP Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule. The CBDT has been demanded to verify the properties filed as a part of their election affidavits.
Responding to the notice, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said, “They love some people.”
The notice comes on the backdrop of an intense struggle between the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the BJP. This new progress could improve more fuel to the fire.
